The first season of BBV CDs had the collective title of "Audio Adventures In Time & Space". Several of them had Sylvester McCoy & Sophie Aldred appearing as characters named The Professor and Ace, which were virtually identical to their roles in the original TV series as the 7th Doctor and Ace. Another character named Fred was introduced, who also travelled in time & space in a vaguely Doctor Who like way and seemed to be a continuation of the lead character from the fan-created "Audio Visuals" series. Plus there was a psuedo-Cyberman race called the Cyberons.

The second season of BBV CDs also had the collective title of "Audio Adventures In Time & Space". Once more several of them had Sylvester McCoy & Sophie Aldred appearing as characters re-named The Dominie and Alice, which were virtually identical to their roles in the original TV series as the 7th Doctor and Ace. There were further stories featuring Fred (the mysterious traveller in time & space), as well as some with a similar character - the Stranger - who'd originally featured in a range of BBV video stories. Two new sub-series were (1) "Adventures In A Pocket Universe", with Lalla Ward as a very Romana-like character called The Mistress accompanied by K9 and (2) "Familiar Faces, New Adventures", with characters from the "Doctor Who" TV series officially licensed from their creators for use in these audios - Sontarans, Zygons and Krynoids.

The third season of BBV CDs continued with the collective title of "Audio Adventures In Time & Space". Once again there are the "Familiar Faces, New Adventures" stories, with characters from the "Doctor Who" TV series officially licensed from their creators for use in these audios - Sontarans and Wirrn - plus the Cyberons and Sylvester McCoy's Doctor-like character was re-named the Dominie. As well there were some stand alone tales with no obvious "Doctor Who" connection, plus one that did directly flow on from the original "Doctor Who" TV series (The Rani Reaps The Whirlwind).

The fourth season of BBV CDs once more has the collective title of "Audio Adventures In Time & Space". Again there are the "Familiar Faces, New Adventures" stories, with characters from the "Doctor Who" TV series officially licensed from their creators for use in these audios - Krynoids, Rutans and Zygons - plus one stand alone tale with no obvious "Doctor Who" connection. New to this season was a range of stories featuring the Faction Paradox, a race of entities travelling across time and between dimensions (first introduced as a series of novels spun-off from regular "Doctor Who") and the "Faction Paradox" stories subsequently continue in releases by Magic Bullet.
